About Julie

Raised between the vibrant streets of Montreal and the quiet beauty of eastern Ontario, Julie grew up where cityscapes met rolling farmland and hardwood forests. Her deep love of the natural world was nurtured early on by her Irish grandmothers—wise women who believed that healing, wonder, and magic dwell in the forest for those who take the time to look, to listen, and to truly see.

Julie’s journey has led her through many landscapes, each with its own rhythm and mystery. Her winters spent in Arizona revealed a different kind of wildness—where cactus forests give way to towering pines within a single winding road. These contrasts only deepened her reverence for nature’s quiet transformations.

Today, Julie lives on an escarpment near Macaulay Mountain in Picton, Ontario, surrounded by beloved trees and shifting woodland paths. Her art is rooted in this connection to the land—each piece a reflection of the silence, spirit, and story found in the spaces where nature whispers.

Her art education has been led by many inspiring teachers in Canada, US and Europe. She is actively involved in creative associations in the region: a member of the Executive Committee of the Belleville Art Association, and a member of Prince Edward County Arts Council and Quinte Arts Council.
